Indian Air Force Day 2022

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the world's fourth largest air force, trailing only the United States, China, and Russia. This year marks the 90th anniversary of Indian Air Force Day, which is celebrated on October 8. The Indian Air Force will hold a parade at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad to demonstrate its air power.

Nearly 80 planes, including a single-engine MiG-21, will fly over Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh on Indian Air Force Day 2022. On this day, the planes will fly in five formations, including a three-plane formation led by LCH.

The Indian Air Force, also known as the "Bhartiya Vayu Sena," is the Indian Armed Forces' air arm. This day commemorates the establishment of the Indian Air Force to assist the Army fighting on the ground.

Celebrations for the 90th anniversary

The Air Force Day fly-past at the Sukhna Lake complex on Saturday will feature nearly 80 military aircraft and helicopters as part of the 90th anniversary celebration. The IAF has decided to hold its annual Air Force Day parade and fly-past outside of the Delhi NCR for the first time.

President Droupadi Murmu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the aerial display at Sukhna Lake. On Saturday morning, prior to the air show, a ceremonial parade will be held at the air force station. The parade will be inspected by Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari. On this occasion, the Chief of Air Staff will also unveil the new pattern of combat uniform for IAF personnel, they said.

The Indian Air Force was officially established on 8 October 1932. Its first ac flight came into being on 01 April 1933. Therefore, the celebration of this day was officially started on 8th October in the year 1932 in order to increase the awareness of the Indian air force in any organization of national security both officially and publicly. The day is celebrated in air force bases all across the nation with air shows and parades conducted by air force cadets, as the Indian Air Force (IAF) has its prime responsibility of securing the Indian airspace as well as carrying out aerial warfare during any clash.
