The Ministry of Education will host the 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' programme.

The Ministry of Education will host the 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' next month. The 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' is a month-long event that will begin on the 16th of the following month. The 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' seeks to rediscover the centuries-old knowledge bond and ancient civilizational link between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu.

Important Information About 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam'

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister, addressed the media and informed over 2400 Tamil people in 12 groups. He spoke to a large and diverse segment of society, including academics, philosophy, agriculture, entrepreneurship, the arts, and so on.

These 12 groups will spend eight days in Kashi learning about the ancient knowledge shared by these two ancient cities. These people will travel by train from Rameshwaram, Chennai, and Coimbatore. Seminars, lectures, and discussions will be held throughout the programme during this time.

Mr. Pradhan also launched a website for the registration process for this month-long event on this occasion. The event will be held as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' initiative. This event will be hosted by IIT-Madras and Banaras Hindu University.


Recipient of a National Film Award Pinaki Chaudhuri, a Bengali film director, has died.

Pinaki Chaudhuri, a Bengali film director and National award winner, died at the age of 82. He died of lymphoma, a lymphatic system cancer. He was born on September 19, 1940, and had a wide range of interests in the arts and music. He made his film debut in 1983 with the film 'Chena Achena.' He was a tabla player at a young age, having been trained by Ustad Karamatullah Khan. He eventually stopped playing the Tabla and began producing films in 1977.

'Kakababu Here Gelen?' is another of his notable films. (Kakababu defeated? ), 'Ek Tukro Chand' (A moon slice), and 'Arohan' (Ascension). Pinaki Chaudhuri won two National Film Awards for Best Bengali Feature Film for 'Sanghat' (Conflict) in 1996 and 'Ballygunge Court' in 2007.


Karnataka's cabinet increased reservations for the SC and ST communities.

The Karnataka cabinet decided to issue an ordinance increasing reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs) by 2% and for Scheduled Tribes (STs) by 4%. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai presides over the Karnataka cabinet. The Karnataka government's decision aims to uplift the state's ST/SC community by providing adequate opportunities in education and employment.

Increase in ST/ST reservations in Karnataka:

The reservation files will be submitted for approval to Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot.

The hike in the reservation will benefit the 103 SC communities and the 56 ST communities. The state government's initiative to increase reservation for SC/STs implies that reservation will exceed the Supreme Court's 50 percent limit and rise to 55 percent in Karnataka.

The Karnataka BJP government decided to raise the quota based on a report prepared by a community led by retired High Court Judge H.N. Nagmohan Das.


IIT Madras has won the National Intellectual Property Award for 2021 and 2022.

National Award for Intellectual Property: The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) received the national award for intellectual property for 2021 and 2022. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry established the prize.

National Intellectual Property Award: 

The evaluation criteria were patent applications, grants, and commercialization. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal presented the award.

V. Kamakoti, director of the institute, congratulated the professors, researchers, students, and other stakeholders on their achievement after receiving the trophy, citation, and cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

"This award has encouraged IIT Madras to create and protect more intellectual property with societal impact." The yearly award recognises those who have excelled in intellectual property innovations and commercialization that support the development of the nation's IP ecosystem and promote innovation, including individuals, institutions, organisations, and businesses.
