The Airport Council International has given the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) award for 2022. (ACI). The distinction is regarded as the highest honour in the world of flying. CIAL won the prize for airports serving the Asia-Pacific area and accommodating between 5 and 15 million passengers. The recognition is for its implementation of the "Mission Safeguarding" programme, which supported passenger satisfaction following the epidemic and ensured smooth traffic.

Why was CIAL given this award?

CIAL has received distinction among airports serving the Asia-Pacific area with 5–15 million passengers annually. Due to its rigorous survey methodology methods, the ACI Prize is acknowledged as the top honour in the world's aviation industry. During the epidemic, the airport implemented "Mission Safeguarding" in accordance with the rules developed by the chairman and the board of directors, ensuring efficient traffic management that is safe, secure, and passenger-friendly.

Notably: In March of this year, CIAL was honoured as a "Covid champion" at Wings India 2022 for implementing "Mission Safeguarding" successfully.

The ASQ worldwide airport survey's findings:

The awards are chosen based on the results of the ASQ global airport survey, which highlights the best airports in the world according to travellers. This time, new hygiene-related parameters were introduced in addition to the benchmarks already in place. Continuous learning and development are the cornerstone of the ASQ surveys and the complete suite of solutions to achieve sustained customer experience excellence. The sustained revival of the whole aviation ecosystem will depend on airports maintaining their competitive advantage, generating non-aeronautical revenue, and continuing to listen to and respond to travellers as the industry recovers.
