The future belongs to India,' Putin says, praising PM Modi's independent foreign policy and leadership.

The Russian president also lauded India's transformation from a British colony to a modern state.

On October 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's independent foreign policy in his annual address to the Valdai Discussion Club, a Moscow-based think tank, saying that a lot has been done in India under his leadership.

"PM Modi's leadership has accomplished much. He loves his country and is a patriot. His 'Make in India' concept is important both economically and ethically. India's future belongs to it, and it can be proud of being the world's largest democracy "According to Reuters' translation of Mr. Putin's statement, the Kremlin said at the Valdai Discussion Club.

The Russian president praised India's development from a British colony to a modern state, adding that the country's 1.5 billion people and tangible development results are reasons for everyone's respect and admiration.

"India has made tremendous strides in its transition from a British colony to a modern state. India's nearly 1.5 billion people and tangible development results are reasons for everyone's respect and admiration "He continued.

He also emphasised India-Russia ties, referring to them as a special relationship. "It has been supported by a long-standing ally relationship." We've never had any difficult issues and have always supported one another, and the same is true right now. I'm confident it will happen in the future."

The Russian president also stated that Prime Minister Modi has asked him to increase the supply of fertilizers, which is critical for Indian agriculture.

"We increased volume 7.6 times." Agriculture trade has nearly doubled," he added.

Mr. Putin's speech to the Kremlin-affiliated institute comes as Moscow continues to escalate the war in Ukraine, more than eight months after the Russian invasion began on February 24.

Meanwhile, he slammed the West for engaging in "dirty games" for global dominance and stated that he is convinced that "new centers of power will emerge in the multi polar world and the West will have to start talking as equals about our common future" sooner or later.

He did, however, add that the United States and its allies are not immune to the consequences of their own actions. During the session, Mr. Putin stated that the West cannot ignore the crises that it has caused.

"Only a world united by common goals can act on the challenges that it faces," Russian President Vladimir Putin added.

"In the game that the West is playing, power over the world is at stake." This game is unquestionably dangerous, bloody, and filthy." He emphasized that western nations that seek to impose their values and vision on the rest of the world are robbing everyone, including themselves.

"First and foremost, this destroys the West's creative potential," he warned. "There is also a commercial interest here," the Russian leader added.
